Grant of Options

Trapoil (AIM: TRAP), the independent oil and gas exploration and appraisal company focused on the UK Continental Shelf region of the North Sea, announces that yesterday it granted options over, in aggregate, 3,170,000 ordinary shares of 1 penny each in the share capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares") to executive directors and employees (the "Grant"). The awards were approved by the Remuneration Committee as part of the Company's annual pay review to be conducted in November each year.

The Grant has been made under the terms of the Company's existing unapproved share option plan 2011 (the "Share Option Scheme") as follows:

Following the Grant, there are now options outstanding over, in aggregate, 15,688,212 Ordinary Shares representing approximately 7.64 per cent. of the Company's existing issued share capital.

The new options granted under the Share Option Scheme vest in equal portions over a three year period from the date of grant, and are subject to the completion of certain specified performance conditions. The new options, once vested, are exercisable, in whole or in part, at any time up to the tenth anniversary of the date of grant at an exercise price of 27.12 pence each, being the average of the Company's mid-market closing share price for the previous three trading days.
