John Lewis Of Hungerford PLC27 September 2006 John Lewis of Hungerford plc 27 September 2006 Directorate Changes John Lewis of Hungerford plc ('the Company') is pleased to announce theappointment of Jon Rosby to the Board of the Company as a Director, with theintention that he will assume the role of Managing Director once he hascompleted a period of familiarisation with the Company and its business. Hisappointment will take effect on 2 October 2006. Jon Rosby was formerly Trading Director of MFI Limited and brings to ourbusiness some 30 years of relevant industry experience. John Lewis, Chairman, commented: "Jon's appointment completes the management transition initiated by the Boardwith the appointment to the Board on 23rd January 2006 of Malcolm Hepworth, whoassumed the executive responsibilities of Managing Director of the Company'sbusiness under a consultancy arrangement. Malcolm has been instrumental inhelping the Company secure the services of Jon Rosby and although he willcontinue to fulfil these executive responsibilities for the time being, whileJon rosby familiarises himself with the business, he will relinquish them assoon as Jon Rosby is ready to assume the role of Managing Director. As part of the reorganisation of the Company's management and the Board, I willbe relinquishing day to day executive responsibilities from the time Jon Rosbyassumes the role of Managing Director but will thereafter remain Chairman of theCompany working in a part time capacity. My wife, Linda Lewis, will retire as aDirector with immediate effect. Your Board believes that these changes complete the managerial transition wehave been working on for some time and puts the future development of theCompany into younger and highly experienced hands.
