Update on final results announcement for the year ended 30 June 2020
John Lewis of Hungerford Plc (the "Company") announces that following the changing Covid-19 situation and the imposition of a national lockdown in England from Thursday, 5 November 2020, it will be delaying the announcement of the final results for the year ended 30 June 2020 to allow the management team to focus on the Company's day to day operations. Previously the Company had intended to announce these results before the end of October 2020.
Whilst the audit for the year ended 30 June 2020 is substantially complete, discussions are ongoing, given the new restrictions and the likely impact on the business.
The Company is confident that it will be able to implement measures deployed during the first lockdown to continue its business operations with less disruption than earlier in the year. The showrooms will close in line with non-essential retail closures with design activity moved online wherever possible. Manufacturing in the Company's factory in Oxfordshire, together with installations in customers' homes will continue.
