James Halstead PLC09 February 2006 JAMES HALSTEAD PLC SHARE SUB-DIVISION Further to the authority received at the annual general meeting on 2 December2005, James Halstead plc (the "Company") announces the details of a sub-divisionof its ordinary shares. With effect from 27 February 2006, each of the Company's existing ordinaryshares of 10p each will be sub-divided into two ordinary shares of 5p each. Therecord date for the sub-division is the close of business on 24 February 2006. Where applicable, CREST accounts will be credited with the new ordinary sharesof 5p each on 27 February 2006 and replacement share certificates will be postedto shareholders by 3 March 2006.
