APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR

Further to the announcement earlier today regarding the combination of JPMorgan Japanese Investment Trust plc (the "Company") and JPMorgan Japan Small Cap Growth & Income plc ("JSGI") pursuant to a scheme of reconstruction and winding-up of JSGI (the "Scheme"), the Board is pleased to announce that Mr. Thomas Walker, a non-executive director of JSGI since 2019, will be appointed as a non-executive director of the Company with effect from 25th October 2024.

Mr. Walker is a qualified chartered accountant. He spent his executive career in asset management where he was an investment manager for over 30 years with responsibility for global equity funds including a number of investment trusts.

He is also a non-executive director of Lowland Investment Company plc. His appointment as a non-executive director of JSGI will terminate with effect from midnight today, 24th October 2024. His previous directorships include his appointment as a non-executive director of Global Opportunities Trust plc, where he stepped down in 2022.

Mr. Walker held shares in JSGI and elected to receive new shares in the Company pursuant to the Scheme. His shareholding in the Company will be disclosed to the market under a separate notfication.

No further information is to be disclosed in respect of paragraphs 6.4.8(2) - (6) of the UK Listing Rules for Mr. Thomas Walker.
