JPMORGAN EUROPEAN SMALLER COMPANIES TRUST PLC

CHANGE IN DIRECTORATE

The Board of JPMorgan European Smaller Companies Trust plc (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Tanya Cordrey as an independent non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 10th July 2019 at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting.

Tanya Cordery has extensive experience in the digital environment, culminating in four years as Chief Digital Officer of Guardian News & Media. Prior thereto she worked for BBC News and Reed Elsevier, before joining eBay when is started in the UK and Europe.

She is currently a Non-Executive Director of Clarks (one of the UK's largest private companies) and an Advisory Board member of Palamon Capital Partners and Zumby.io. She was previously a Non-Executive Director of Schibsted PLC, a publicly listed international media and classifieds group with a turnover of in excess of $2 billion.

Ms Tanya Cordrey does not currently hold any shares in the Company.

There is no further information to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13 R (2) to (6) for Ms Tanya Cordrey.
