Directorate Change - Appointment of non-executive Director
The Board of Jersey Electricity Plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Tony Taylor as a non-executive Director with effect from 21st September, 2017.
Tony's career spans over thirty-five years in marketing and communications, having worked for three of the world's leading global advertising agency networks, in senior management roles. Most recently, Tony has been a Regional Director at J. Walter Thompson, part of WPP plc.
Born in Jersey, Tony has lived in the UK and Singapore and has worked with numerous blue-chip companies around the world.
Tony is also a director of Jersey Sport and the Jersey Milk Marketing Board.
Tony has a BSc in Psychology from the City University, London.
There are no further disclosures required to be made in respect of Rule 9.6.13 of the FCA's Listing Rules.
Since the States of Jersey are considered to be a 'controlling shareholder' by virtue of their voting rights in the Company, the FCA's Listing Rule 13.8.17 requires additional disclosures when independent directors are appointed. Accordingly the following information is provided in respect of this appointment:

Tony is a member of the Jersey Sport Board and the Jersey Milk Marketing Board, appointments made by the States of Jersey.
The Company also makes the following statements:
• Effectiveness: Tony's biography is above. His background and skillset will bring diversity to the Board.
• Independence: The Board considers that Tony is independent in character and judgment, and that there are no relationships or circumstances that are likely to affect his judgment.
• Selection: Tony was selected through a process overseen by the Nominations Committee with the use of an external recruitment consultant.
