Professor Jeffrey Cummings, MD, ScD, University of Nevada Las Vegas

Jeff is the Joy Chambers-Grundy Professor of Brain Science, Director of the Chambers-Gundy Center for Transformative Neuroscience, Co-Director of the Pam Quirk Brain Health and Biomarker Laboratory, Department of Brain Health, School of Integrated Health Sciences, University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV). A full biography is available in the notes at the bottom of this announcement.

Professor Charles DeCarli, MD, University of California

Charles is Distinguished Professor of Neurology at the University of California in Davis, California and recipient of the Victor and Genevieve Orsi Chair in Alzheimer's Research. He is Co-Director of the UC Davis Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (UCD ADRC), and Chief of the Imaging of Dementia and Aging (IDeA) laboratory A full biography is available in the notes at the bottom of this announcement.

Professor Stéphane Lehéricy, MD, Paris Brain Institute

Stéphane Lehéricy is Professor of Neuroradiology and head of the neuroradiology department at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital (Paris) and Director of CENIR (Centre de neuro-imagerie de recherche) at the Paris Brain Institute. His area of research is the structural and functional study of the normal and pathological human brain, including movement pathology and neurodegenerative dementia.  A full biography is available in the notes at the bottom of this announcement.

Scientific Collaborations

Paris Brain Institute

IXICO has entered into a research collaboration with the Paris Brain Institute (ICM) to conduct a prospective study evaluating a number of new neuromelanin-sensitive MRI approaches as a potential imaging biomarker approach for use in clinical research in PD. The study will focus on optimising MRI acquisition protocols and applying advanced AI-driven analysis to improve the robustness and reproducibility of this emerging imaging technique, supporting its adoption as a quantitative imaging biomarker in PD clinical trials.

The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (MJFF) - MRI Advisory Committee

Robin Wolz, CSO/CMO at IXICO and Kirsi Kinnunen, Principal Biomarker Scientist at IXICO have been invited to participate in MJFF's MRI Advisory Committee, which brings together researchers and experts working in neuroimaging and biomarker research related to Parkinson's disease. The committee is part of a broader precompetitive public-private effort that convenes academic leaders, industry partners, and nonprofit stakeholders to advance the development, standardisation, and validation of quantitative MRI biomarkers for PD research. Through collaboration on protocols, data sharing, and reproducibility, the committee supports the evaluation of imaging biomarkers that could ultimately improve the measurement of disease progression and therapeutic response in clinical trials.

Robin Wolz, Chief Scientific and Medical Officer of IXICO, commented:  "IXICO's business proposition is grounded in science, which is why working with some of the world's most important KOLs ensures the validation and clinical relevance of the services and technology we provide to the biopharma industry. In addition, adding further expertise and collaborative R&D activity, including our research collaboration with the Paris Brain Institute and participation in MRI biomarker advisory activities, IXICO further deepens its presence in the CNS space.

I'm delighted to welcome Jeff, Charlie and Stéphane to the Scientific Advisory Board adding knowledge and experience to an already strong group of advisors. We will continue to explore opportunities to work with the most important individuals and organisations pioneering progress towards better understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of neurodegenerative disease."
