South Korean Diesel Engine Manufacturer latest to Implement Ubisense tool tracking solution

Cambridge, UK - Ubisense Group Plc ("Ubisense" or the "Company") (LSE:UBI), a market leader in location based smart technology, is pleased to announce that a South Korean engine manufacturer has selected Ubisense for its tool tracking solution and has commenced deployment on multiple engine assembly lines at their domestic plant.

The tool location module of the Ubisense Smart Factory System was selected because of its ability to provide an end to end solution for visibility and control across the manufacturers main production lines, something that could not have been achieved before using traditional passive RFID or bar code solutions.

This leading South Korean industrial has selected the system in order to eliminate defects as early as possible during the assembly process. A number of critical tightening operations, if defective or incomplete, can cause expensive rework at a later date therefore identifying them early is important for an efficient and error free production facility. For the customer, this is a process improvement they have been looking to implement for a while and Ubisense's unique solution and strategic partnership with Geoplan made this possible.
