Board Changes and Strategy Update
imJack plc (AIM: IMJ), the digital educational networking and media business, is pleased to announce the appointment of Anthony Lilley OBE to the board of directors of imJack (the "Board") as Acting Chief Executive with immediate effect.
This is part of the Company's ongoing strategy development and follows the signing of a consultancy agreement with Professor Tanya Byron, Anthony Lilley and Samantha Richards ("TAS"), announced on 7 September 2009, which the Directors believe will enhance significantly the speed of the roll out of its imJack technology platform to schools.
Anthony Lilley, a BAFTA award winning digital media creative, has vast experience in large scale digital learning projects and children's media production and is Chief Executive of Magic Lantern Productions ("Magic Lantern"), an interactive media company, with which imJack is already working closely on product development. The relationship between the two companies will develop further following Anthony's appointment at imJack. Magic Lantern's clients include the BBC, Channel 4, Google, BT and a number of government departments and the relationship with imJack is expected to benefit both businesses, as new opportunities are explored.
The Board looks forward to announcing the appointment of Anthony Lilley to the position of CEO on a permanent basis, subject to certain strategic milestones being achieved by the Company.
Len Sanderson, imJack's former CEO, has stepped down from his executive role to become a non-executive director with immediate effect.
Michael Abrahams, Chairman of imJack, said: "Anthony has been an adviser to the Department for Children, Schools and Families ("DCSF") and has exceptional experience developing multimillion pound digital learning products and web services. He will be a valuable asset to the business, as we pursue our strategy to deliver imJack to schools on a fee-based business model. I welcome him wholeheartedly to the Board.
I am very pleased that Len Sanderson's immense knowledge and experience of the advertising and sponsorship sectors are being retained by the Company, although in a non executive capacity. His skills will become increasingly important to imJack as the roll out to schools advances."
Following the appointment of Anthony Lilley, the Company announces that Chris White-Smith will no longer be joining imJack as Commercial Director, as announced on 8 June 2009.
