Haynes Publishing Group PLC19 October 2006 HAYNES PUBLISHING GROUP P.L.C. CHAIRMAN'S STATEMENT AT THE A.G.M. At the A.G.M. held today (19th October 2006) Mr. J.H. Haynes OBE, Chairman, madethe following statement:- "In our latest Annual Report we refer to the fact that higher energy prices havehad a significant impact on disposable income in the Group's major markets.This has led to consumers deferring work on their vehicles and retailersimplementing tighter inventory controls. These conditions have, as anticipated,continued into the new financial year and sales have consequently been affectedadversely. While there has been some recent recovery, at this stage,indications are that the remainder of the year will be difficult. As a result of the above factors, we could well see a further decline in tradingperformance this year. However, the Board remains confident that results will rebound in subsequentyears."
