JointΒ StockΒ CompanyΒ 'HalykΒ SavingsΒ Bank ofΒ Kazakhstan'Β (Halyk Bank) (LSE: HSBK)Β is pleased to announce two corporate awards recently granted to Halyk Bank. HalykΒ has been recognised asΒ theΒ "Best Bank inΒ Kazakhstan"Β and "Best Managed Bank in Emerging Europe"Β in a corporateΒ survey conducted by Euromoney ofΒ analysts at leading banks and research institutes.Β
The criteria for selecting the winners included the bank's position in the market, market share, innovative banking products, management system, professionalism of the staff, innovative character, balance sheet and shareholder equity.
Mr.Β Martin Born, Director for CEE,Β RussiaΒ and CIS, EuromoneyΒ highlighted that: "The jury was particularly impressed byΒ Halyk'sΒ success in developing its retail business as well as its strong presence in theΒ retail depositΒ market, growing sales andΒ spectacularΒ development in the regions".
The "Best Bank inΒ Kazakhstan" was awarded to Mr. Grigory Marchenko, CEO of Halyk Bank, during the Euromoney Awards for ExcellenceΒ 2008Β which took place inΒ Hong KongΒ on July 17, 2008.Β This award is recognitionΒ of Halyk Bank's commitment to developingΒ as aΒ leading financial services group and recentΒ expansion of its international operations and credit exposure in the region.
