Appointment of Non-Executive Chairman

Halfords Group plc announces the appointment of Keith Williams as Non-Executive Chairman with effect from the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting on 24 July 2018. As previously indicated, Dennis Millard will hand over and retire from the Board on that date after serving as Chairman for nine years. 

Keith brings extensive leadership and PLC board experience, having been Chief Executive Officer and then Executive Chairman of British Airways for a number of years. He has a proven record in retail and deep experience in relevant areas such as customer service and digital. Keith is currently a non-executive director of Aviva Plc, a non-executive director and deputy chairman of John Lewis and a non-executive director of Royal Mail plc. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Dennis Millard, Halfords Chairman, commented:

This disclosure is given in accordance with LR 9.6.11 R of the Listing Rules. There is no further information to be disclosed under paragraph 9.6.13 pertaining to this appointment.
