M/VΒ KONSTANTINOS DΒ TIME CHARTER EXTENDEDΒ AT US$35,000Β PER DAY
Hellenic Carriers Limited,Β ("Hellenic" or the "Company") (AIM: HCL), an international provider of marine transportation services for dry bulkΒ cargoes, today announces thatΒ its wholly owned subsidiary Vergina Shipping Ltd (Vergina)Β has extended the time charterΒ for the M/VΒ Konstantinos D, which would expire at the earliest onΒ 27 March 2010,Β for a further period of 10 months untilΒ 25Β January 2011Β at the grossΒ dailyΒ rate of US$35,000Β commencingΒ as ofΒ 5Β FebruaryΒ 2009. Additionally Vergina has the option to terminate the charter fromΒ 27 March 2010Β with prior notice of 40 days to the charterers.Β Β
The M/VΒ Konstantinos DΒ is aΒ 50,326Β dwtΒ SupramaxΒ built inΒ 2000Β atΒ Mitsui EngineeringΒ andΒ Shipbuilding inΒ Japan and was time charteredΒ inΒ March 2008 for a period of minimum 24 months maximum 26 months to Korea Line CorporationΒ at a gross rate of US$56,250Β per day.Β
