The Gym Group plc is pleased to announce that Emma Woods has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 14 November 2016. Emma will become a member of the Audit & Risk Committee, Remuneration Committee and Nominations Committee from this date.

Emma is currently Group Marketing and Digital Director at Merlin Entertainments and her previous experience includes Marketing Director roles at Pizza Express and at Unilever.

There are no further disclosures to be made pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13R(1)-(6) of the Listing Rules.

Penny Hughes, Chairman of The Gym Group plc, commented:
