Gas Turbine Efficiency PLC23 October 2007 23 October 2007 GTE to receive US Patent for on-wing turbine wash technology Gas Turbine Efficiency plc ("GTE" or "the Group"), a leading manufacturer ofadvanced systems to clean, monitor and enhance the performance of aviation andindustrial turbines, is pleased to announce that it is to be granted a US Patentfor System and Devices for Collecting and Treating Waste Water from EngineWashing. An application for the patent was filed in June 14, 2004 and concerns GTE'sunique, highly atomised water injection technology for 'on-wing' washing ofaircraft engines built by all leading turbine manufacturers. These wash systemshave been deployed by a wide range of aircraft operators through GTE's exclusiveaviation industry partner, Pratt & Whitney, and deliver validated reductions incarbon emissions, fuel costs and engine downtime. The patent describes and protects the Group's intellectual property concerningthe GTE Collection and Treatment System, whose key environmental featuresinclude effluent-free, closed loop washing resulting in 100% capture of dirtywater. Key features described in the application include : Mobile, Wash Effluent Collection System with: • Flexible Positioning and Configuration for Multiple Engine Classes • Liquid to Air Separation of Wash/Air Effluent upon Exit from the Engine During Wash • Funneling of Liquid from Separator and Below Engine Nacelle to a Collection and Holding System • Waste Water Filtering Treatment for Reuse or Environmental Release The grant of the patent takes the total number of patents filed or held by GTEto six.
