Director/PDMR Shareholdings

As described in the Genus 2013 Annual Report, following the introduction of compulsory deferral of 25% of annual bonus earned by Executive directors and members of the Genus Executive Leadership Team ("GELT"), in respect of bonuses earned in the financial year ending 30 June 2013, Genus announces that nil cost options were awarded yesterday under the Genus Deferred Share Bonus Plan (the "Plan") to:

· Karim Bitar, Chief Executive, as to 3,495 ordinary shares of 10 pence each in the Company ("Shares");

· Stephen Wilson, Group Finance Director, as to 1,050 Shares;

· Bill Christianson, Chief Operating Officer, Genus PIC, as to 1,132 Shares;

· Saskia Korink Romani, Chief Operating Officer, Genus ABS, as to 487 Shares;

· Jerry Thompson, Chief Operating Officer, Genus Asia, as to 2,092 Shares; and

· Catherine Glickman, Group Human Resources Director, as to 1,014 Shares.

Subject to the terms of the Plan and the grantee's continued service, the awards will ordinarily vest on 27 September 2016.

No consideration was paid for the grant of these awards and no consideration is due in connection with the exercise of these awards.

On the same date, in accordance with the terms of joining contained in their respective employment contracts, the following GELT members were granted contingent rights over Shares under individual award agreements as follows:

· Saskia Korink Romani, Chief Operating Officer, Genus ABS, as to 2,076 Shares with a normal vesting date of 7 January 2015; and

· Jonathan Lightner, Chief Scientific Officer, as to 8,918 Shares with a normal vesting date of 21 October 2014 as to 4,459 Shares and 21 October 2015 as to 4,459 Shares.

Subject to the terms of the individual award agreements and the relevant grantee's continued service, the awards will ordinarily vest on the normal vesting date for the awards as specified above.

No consideration was paid for the grant of these awards and no consideration is due in connection with the exercise of these awards.
