Director/PDMR Shareholdings

Genus announces that 21,008 ordinary shares of 10 pence each in the Company ("Share(s)") were today sold on behalf of John Worby, Group Finance Director, at a price of 1,474.68 pence per Share. This sale was made further to the vesting of 42,017 conditional nil-cost Share options on 17 September 2012 under the Company's Performance Share Plan ("the PSP") and represents the exercise by John Worby of one half of his vesting entitlement. The remaining 21,009 Share options that vested under the PSP in September 2012 have been retained by John Worby and have not been exercised.

John Worby's direct shareholding in the Company stands at 10,000 Shares, representing 0.02% of the issued share capital of the Company that is currently 60,354,170 Shares. In addition, he is the owner of 64,271 nil-cost Share options that have vested under the PSP and he remains the beneficial owner of 68,360 conditional nil-cost Share options under the PSP.

Genus also announces that:

(i) 3,619 Shares were today sold on behalf of Bill Christianson, Chief Operating Officer, Genus PIC, at a price of 1,474.68 pence per Share. This sale was made further to the vesting of 18,970 market value Share options on 17 September 2012 under the Company's Executive Share Option Plan ("the ESOP"). Bill Christianson's direct shareholding in the Company stands at 6,932 Shares representing 0.01% of the issued share capital of the Company. In addition, he remains the beneficial owner of 56,953 conditional nil-cost Share options under the PSP.

(ii) 2,354 Shares were today sold on behalf of Ricardo Campos, Chief Operating Officer, Genus ABS, at a price of 1,474.68 pence per Share. This sale was made further to the vesting of 8,466 market value Share options on 17 September 2012 under the ESOP. Ricardo Campos has no direct shareholding in the Company and is the owner of 4,233 market value Share options that have vested under the ESOS and the beneficial owner of 38,696 conditional market value Share options under the ESOS.

(iii) 5,184 Shares were today sold on behalf of Jerry Thompson, Chief Operating Officer, Genus Asia, at a price of 1,474.68 pence per Share. This sale was made further to the vesting of 18,640 market value Share options on 17 September 2012 under the ESOP. Jerry Thompson has no direct shareholding in the Company and is the owner of 9,320 market value Share options that have vested under the ESOS and he is the beneficial owner of 21,452 conditional nil-cost Share options under the PSP and 17,545 conditional market value Share options under the ESOS

(iv) 10,499 Shares were today sold on behalf of Denny Funk, Chief Scientific Officer, at a price of 1,474.68 pence per Share. This sale was made further to the vesting of 18,878 market value Share options on 17 September 2012 under the ESOP. Denny Funk has no direct shareholding in the Company and is the beneficial owner of 25,568 market value Share options under the ESOS.

(v) 22,154 Shares were today sold on behalf of Ian Farrelly, Group Company Secretary & General Counsel, at a price of 1,474.68 pence per Share. This sale was made further to the vesting of 22,154 nil-cost Share options on 17 September 2012 under the PSP. Ian Farrelly has no direct shareholding in the Company and is the beneficial owner of 39,308 nil-cost Share options under the PSP.

(vi) 19,404 Shares were today sold on behalf of David Crosby, Group Financial Controller, at a price of 1,474.68 pence per Share. This sale was made further to the vesting of 19,404 nil-cost Share options on 17 September 2012 under the PSP. David Crosby has no direct shareholding in the Company and is the beneficial owner of 34,439 nil-cost Share options under the PSP.
