Appointment of Lord Truscott as Non-Executive Director

Gulf Keystone Petroleum Limited (AIM: GKP),Β an independent oil &Β gas exploration company with interests inΒ AlgeriaΒ andΒ Kurdistan, is pleased to announceΒ the appointment of Lord TruscottΒ (49)Β as a Non-Executive Director.
Β
Lord Truscott of St James'sΒ was appointedΒ a LabourΒ member of the House of LordsΒ in 2004.Β Β Between 2006 and 2007,Β heΒ was Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Energy at the Department of Trade and IndustryΒ ("DTI")Β and the DTI Government Spokesperson in the House of Lords.Β He represented Hertfordshire in the European Parliament fromΒ 1994 toΒ 1999.
Lord TruscottΒ isΒ currentlyΒ ParliamentaryΒ British CouncilΒ Ambassador,Β Russian FederationΒ and republics of the formerΒ Soviet UnionΒ ("FSU"). He has extensive contacts inΒ RussiaΒ and the FSU, and is widely regarded as a world expertΒ and authorΒ on the region. He is a member of the House of Lords European UnionΒ SelectΒ Committee, Sub Committee C (Foreign Affairs, Defence and Development Policy).
Following his doctorate fromΒ OxfordΒ University, he has written extensively on foreign, energyΒ and security policy, including aΒ recentΒ Royal United Services Institute report on political risk management in the energy and defence sectors.Β Β He has alsoΒ participated in anΒ Industry and Parliament Trust placement including with ConocoPhillips and KPMG, to assess different commercial approaches to riskΒ management. He was subsequently elected a Fellow of the Industry and Parliament Trust.Β Β He was visiting Research Fellow with the Institute for Public Policy Research from 1999 to 2000 andΒ is currentlyΒ an Associate Fellow ofΒ the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies.Β Β
