Rule 2.9 Announcement
In accordance with Rule 2.9 of the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers, Gemfields plc ("Gemfields") confirms that, as at the date of this announcement, it has 553,593,142 ordinary shares of one pence each in issue and admitted to trading on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange.
The increase in issued share capital is the result of Gemfields share options being exercised by certain employees. The shares issued upon exercise of the options were admitted for trading on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange as part of the block admission update announced on 31 January 2017.
Gemfields holds no ordinary shares in treasury.
The International Securities Identification Number ("ISIN") for the ordinary shares is GB00B0HX1083.
