Administrative Request for Information
On 26 July 2012, Grupo Clarín S.A. (the "Company") informed the Argentine Securities Commission and the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange that the Company had received a request for information from the Audiovisual Communication Services Law Federal Enforcement Authority ("AFSCA", for its Spanish acronym). The request was made within the framework of an administrative proceeding named "Grupo Clarín s/ Constatación de Oficio", pursuant to AFSCA Resolution No. 297/AFSCA/2010.
The request follows the procedures created pursuant to the regulations issued to implement Section 161 of the Audiovisual Communication Services Law. The application of said Section 161 has been suspended by an injunction issued in re "Grupo Clarín S.A. y otros s/ medidas cautelares", currently pending before Federal Civil and Commercial Court No. 1. Therefore, the request constitutes a clear violation of such injunction.
The Company is assessing alternative courses of action.
