New international distribution agreement for SensiumVitals®; first commercial orders received
Toumaz Limited (AIM: TMZ, 'Toumaz', or 'the Group'), a pioneer in low-power wireless semiconductor and software technologies, has signed a significant new North American distribution agreement with NantHealth Group, 'NantHealth', for SensiumVitals®, its ultra-low power system for wireless monitoring of patient vital signs. This new agreement is structured to accelerate the commercial exploitation of SensiumVitals® technology which has now begun.
Highlights:
· North America - iSirona, a NantHealth subsidiary, will be exclusive distributor of SensiumVitals® in the region
o Direct sales relationships with 250 US hospitals
o First commercial order (of six-figure value) for SensiumVitals® patches and hubs
o Hurley Medical Center, Flint, Michigan becomes the first hospital to deploy SensiumVitals® in the Accident & Emergency Department
· Outside North America - distribution rights shared between Toumaz and NantHealth.
This new agreement replaces the previous "Toumaz US" joint venture between Toumaz and NantHealth, and reflects the growth in capabilities of the two companies - in particular, NantHealth's 2012 acquisition of iSirona, a leader in patient monitoring device connectivity.
iSirona will be the exclusive distributor of SensiumVitals® in North America - providing a clearly defined and motivated channel to the region. Established in 2008, iSirona is a leading provider of solutions which integrate medical devices into hospital electronic medical records systems. To date, iSirona has introduced its products into 250 hospitals, a number which is increasing rapidly.
iSirona is ideally positioned to launch SensiumVitals® in North America as Toumaz Healthcare's wireless monitoring system will be a key component within iSirona's portfolio of connectivity solutions.
Toumaz has also received its first sizable commercial order for SensiumVitals®. The system will be deployed at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan; where for the first time, a wireless patient vital signs tracking system will be used in Accident & Emergency - thereby assisting physicians with the management of patients after triage.
In territories outside North America, distribution rights are non-exclusive. Toumaz and NantHealth will both market and sell the SensiumVitals® offering.
The Group has also announced today that SensiumVitals® has received its CE Mark for Europe - and will be starting the first pilot deployment in a UK hospital with Spire Healthcare in early 2014 (see separate release).
