NET ASSET VALUE
The Directors today announce that the estimated Net Asset Value per ordinary share of US $0.01 each ("Ordinary Share") based on the estimated value of The Family Shari'ah Fund Limited provided by the Fund Administrator - Apex Fund Services (Ireland) Limited as at 31 Dec 2010 - including income was US $0.8953*.
The Net Asset Value position* as at 30 Nov 2010 and 31 Dec 2010 and the portfolio allocation as at 31 Dec 2010 is summarised below. Furthermore, the Investment Manager will shortly publish its market and Islamic finance market review which will be found on the Company's website at www.familyshariahfund.com/news.

The portfolio improved by 1.90% in the month of December. This increase in the NAV was mainly from the equity market performance and one exit on the Private Equity side from a Korean company. FSF monetized 50% of the position at 61% IRR and a 1.77x multiple.
FSF invested in alternative investments in December 2010. This investment is a Murabaha structure with a 3 year tenor providing a yield of 11% distributed quarterly.
Finally, the portfolio also invested in three private equity transactions mainly in Asia.
Asset Allocation:
- 16.0% in Cash and Cash Like Instruments
- 24.4% in Islamic Income
- 25.5% in Equities
- 3.5% in Alternatives
- 16.2% in Private Equity
- 14.4% in Real Estate
