FIRST QUANTUM MINERALS DECLARES AN INTERIM DIVIDEND OF CDN $0.197 PER SHARE

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. ("First Quantum" or the "Company", TSX Symbol "FM", LSE Symbol "FQM") will pay an interim dividend of Cdn $0.197 per share in respect of the financial year ended December 31, 2010. The dividend will be paid on September 20, 2010 to shareholders of record on August 27, 2010. The ex-dividend date is August 25, 2010. The Dividends paid are considered eligible dividends for Canadian tax purposes.
