Transaction in own shares
Fyffes plc announces, under the authority granted by shareholders at its previous Annual General Meeting, it purchased 18,000,000 Ordinary Shares of €0.06 each in the issued share capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares") on the market at a price of €0.39 per share on 7 October 2011.
The 18,000,000 Ordinary Shares purchased under this transaction will be held as treasury shares. At the same time, Fyffes has authorised the cancellation of 18,000,000 Ordinary Shares previously held as treasury shares by the Company. Following this transaction, Fyffes plc has 306,633,191 Ordinary Shares in issue, excluding the 33,075,000 held as treasury shares.
