Board Changes
Fenner PLC, a world leader in reinforced polymer technology, announces the following changes to its Board of Directors.
Colin Cooke, who has been Chairman for 17 years will be retiring from the Board on 1 March 2011. He will be succeeded as non-executive Chairman by Mark Abrahams.
On the same date, Nick Hobson will be appointed Chief Executive Officer. Nick, who has been with Fenner for over 20 years in total, has successfully held a number of senior executive management positions within the Advanced Engineered Products Division and is currently a member of the Group Executive Committee. He was selected by the Nomination Committee following an evaluation of the knowledge, skills and experience required for the role, which included external benchmarking.
Colin Cooke, Chairman of Fenner, said
"I am delighted that Mark Abrahams has accepted the invitation to succeed me as non-executive Chairman. Mark's appointment follows consultation with major shareholders, who are supportive and who, like the Board, recognise the benefits of the continued contribution of his considerable knowledge and experience of the Group and its markets.
"In Nick Hobson we have a ready made successor as Chief Executive. He has played a major role in Fenner's progress and displayed the knowledge, experience and skills to take the Group forward to further success."
Mark Abrahams, Chief Executive, commented:
"The Board is very grateful to Colin for his guidance and counsel over many years with the Group, a period in which the Group has changed much and grown substantially. We wish him every happiness in his retirement."
There are no other matters which require to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules.
