Board Appointment
Promethean India PLC, an investment company that focuses on businesses that operate in India, today announces the appointment of Gaurav Burman to its Board of Directors.
As a founding partner and senior member of the investment team, Gaurav has been at the helm of Promethean India since its launch in April 2007. He will be joining the Promethean Board with effect from 1 July 2008.
Gaurav, aged 36, has extensive experience within the Indian capital markets. He was previously an investment director at Dresdner Kleinwort Capital and prior to this, Gaurav was based in New Delhi, India where he worked for the Business Development team at Dabur India Ltd. In 1993, he graduated from Tufts University, with a dual degree in Economics and History.
Gaurav is currently a partner of Promethean India LLP and holds directorships in Dabur Oncology plc, Promethean Investments (Carry) Limited, Promethean Investment (General Partner) Limited, Intermediactive Group Limited and Promethean Investments Fund II (General Partner) Limited. Gaurav has previously been a director of KFS Group Ltd, Veemon Ltd and Quintessentially (UK) Ltd.
Commenting on the appointment, Sir Peter Burt, Chairman of Promethean, said;

His elevation to the Board is testament to his broad commercial experience and business knowledge especially within the Indian market.
