e2v announces contract renewal
Consistent with our last half yearly report, e2v is announcing the agreement of a new multi-year contract with Accuray Incorporated, based in Sunnyvale, California US, for the supply of compact modulators and magnetrons for incorporation into Accuray's TomoTherapy® Hi-Art® Systems, used for the treatment of cancer.
The contract is effective 1st November 2012 and covers a 5 year period for the exclusive supply of magnetrons and a 3 year period for the supply of compact modulators. The combined contract will be worth a minimum of £20m.
e2v's compact modulators and magnetrons represent critical technology within the TomoTherapy Hi-Art System, providing the microwave power which is converted into X-rays for the imaging and radiation treatment of tumours.
The magnetrons supplied will be used in new systems and for the ongoing support of the installed base.
