Densitron Technologies plc ("Densitron" or the "Company") is pleased to provide an update on current trading.
The Company experienced a strong recovery during 2010 and saw a rapid return to confidence in the markets in which it operates. Orders, sales and gross margin for the year ended 31 December 2010 were substantially ahead of 2009 for all regions. Profit from operations, excluding the exceptional loss made on the disposal of Evervision, was materially ahead of 2009 and in line with market expectations.
2011 has commenced in a positive manner with orders, sales and margin significantly ahead of the same period in 2010 providing the business with a solid platform for further growth during the remainder of the year.
Densitron expects to release its results for the year ended 31 December 2010 towards the end of April 2011.
Jan G Holmstrom, Chairman of Densitron, commented:
"We are pleased that the growth experienced in the first half of 2010 was maintained throughout the year. We are confident that the growth will continue in 2011 and we will see a continuing improvement in the trading performance of the Company. Following a further capital reduction in Evervision in September 2010, we have eliminated all debt apart from that supported by trade. The Company has also announced, subsequent to the sale of its stake in Evervision, its intention to make a payment of 5p per share to its shareholders.”
