Desire Petroleum PLC14 January 2008 Immediate Release 14 January 2008 Desire Petroleum plc Appointment of Director The Board of Desire Petroleum plc ("Desire") is pleased to announce theappointment of Mr. Robert Lyons as a non-executive director. Bob Lyons was adirector of the Peak Group (now part of the AGR Group), in which capacity he hadbeen an advisor to Desire, and is already familiar with the Company's operationsin the Falkland Islands. Bob's experience in all aspects of drilling, especiallyoffshore, adds considerable additional expertise to the Board and complementsthat covered by other non-executive directors. With a drilling campaign inprospect, he will be able to play a significant role in its design andimplementation. Dr Colin Phipps (Chairman) said: "I am delighted that a professional of Bob Lyons' stature has joined the DesireBoard at a time when the search for a suitable drilling rig is being activelypursued by all of the oil companies involved in the Falkland Islands. Biography Robert Lyons (44) holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Class I) in MiningEngineering from the University of Leeds and Master of Engineering degree inPetroleum Engineering from Heriot Watt University. On completion of his mastersdegree he joined Sedco Forex Schlumberger as a rig engineer where he remaineduntil 1987. He then joined Enterprise Oil as a drilling engineer initially basedin Aberdeen. During a 16 year career with Enterprise he held positions ofdrilling engineer, drilling superintendent, drilling manager and operationsmanager, working and living in many of Enterprise's overseas locations. In thistime he had responsibility for operations in the UK, Cambodia, Vietnam, MiddleEast, Italy and Brazil and was involved in both exploration and developmentactivities onshore and offshore, covering specialist areas such as remoteoperations, deepwater and HPHT. In 2002, he left the company to join the PeakGroup in Aberdeen as the Chief Operating Officer with the primary responsibilityto build the outsourced well project management side of the business (Peak WellManagement). Over a four year period Peak Well Management became the leader inits field with annual turnover increasing from £1.3 million to in excess of £100million. In 2006 the Peak Group was purchased by the AGR Group of Norway and,following a transition period, he left the company to devote more time to hisfamily and his passion for racing cars.
