Deltex Medical Group PLC16 September 2005 16 September 2005 Deltex Medical Group plc ('Deltex Medical' / 'Company') Results of Department of Health funded clinical trial published in leading medical journal Deltex Medical Group plc, the AIM listed haemodynamic monitoring company, todayannounces that the results of a Department of Health funded clinical trial,looking at the impact of the use of the Company's CardioQ monitor in patientsundergoing surgery for bowel cancer, have been published in the British Journalof Anaesthesia. The trial, undertaken by consultant anaesthetist Dr Howard Wakeling inconjunction with his surgical colleagues at Worthing Hospital, demonstrated thatusing the CardioQ to optimise circulating blood volume led to a reduction inhospital stay of one and a half days when compared to fluid management based oncurrent best-practice. Dr Wakeling won first prize for this work when the results were presented inabstract form to anaesthetists attending the Association of Anaesthetists ofGreat Britain and Ireland meeting in Cardiff in September 2004.
