Pharmaceuticals analyst provides shot in the arm as stock picks rocket
The Board of Daniel Stewart Securities plc is pleased to announce that Vadim Alexandre, a member of staff of Daniel Stewart & Company plc, the Group's investment subsidiary which offers corporate advisory and institutional stockbroking services with a focus on small and mid-sized companies, has been named top Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology analyst by Shares Magazine in its 2009 awards.
Vadim's winning pick was Asterand plc, whose share price has increased nearly 300% since it was first recommended in May of last year. Vadim's expert stock picking has helped to cement Daniel Stewart's reputation as a leading broker in the Healthcare sector. Recently published Hemscott data ranks Daniel Stewart third in the Healthcare arena by number of clients.
New Hires
As announced on 1 June 2009 Christian Wiss joined Daniel Stewart as Head of Sales. Christian was previously with Neue Zurcher Bank where he was in Market Sales / Research specialising in Financials, Biotech and Pharma stocks. Prior to that, he worked in sales and research for Fox-Pitt and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.
Stephen Roberts, Head of Corporate Finance, commenced work at Daniel Stewart on 5 May 2009 and has extensive experience having previously held senior positions at Fairfax IS plc, Collins Stewart plc and Evolution Securities plc.
Daniel Stewart continues to focus on providing strong sector-based research expertise and has recently hired Oil &Gas analyst Leila Reddy who was previously at Libertas Capital and, prior to that, at Banard Jacobs Mellet Securities in Johannesburg.
