CVS, the UK listed veterinary group and a leading provider of veterinary services, announces that its Chair Richard Connell has taken the difficult decision to resign with immediate effect due to ill health.

Deborah Kemp, the Group's Senior Independent Director will assume the role of Chair for the interim period whilst the Board commences a process to appoint a permanent successor.

The Board will make a further announcement at the appropriate time.

CEO Richard Fairman commented: "On behalf of the Board and colleagues at CVS, I would like to thank Richard for his significant contribution during his tenure as Chair and for his support to me personally. Richard has played a pivotal role in overseeing considerable growth in the Group over the past 16 years and will be sorely missed. We wish Richard a full and speedy recovery."
