Audit Committee Chairman and Senior Independent Director

The Board of The City of London Investment Trust plc announces that Samantha Wren has been appointed as Chairman of the Audit Committee with immediate effect, in succession to Richard Hextall. Samantha Wren joined the Board on 1 September 2015.

Richard Hextall is also the Company's Senior Independent Director. He will retire from the Board at the Annual General Meeting to be held on 27 October 2016, at which time Simon Barratt will assume the role of Senior Independent Director.
