DIRECTORS'/PDMR INTERESTS IN SHARES
In accordance with Listing Rule 9.4.2, and this being the first opportunity to make an award to Mr. Shapland in connection with his appointment as Chief Executive of the Company, the Company has made an award to Mr. Shapland over ordinary shares of 1p each in Carpetright as follows:

The price used to determine the value of the award was 486.10p, being the closing share price on 20 September 2011, which is the same price as those awards made to Directors under the 2004 Long Term Incentive Plan ("the Plan") in September 2011. The awards will vest on terms equivalent to those set out in the Plan (including the performance condition being met), in September 2014. The performance conditions are identical to those applicable to the awards made to Directors under the Plan in September 2011.
