Appointment of director
Carpetright plc, Europe's leading specialist carpet and floor coverings retailer, is pleased to announce the appointment to the board of Claire Balmforth as its People and Customer Director with effect from 3rd May 2011.
Claire Balmforth joined Carpetright as its Group HR director 2006. She began her career in Selfridges, and has worked in many retail businesses including Tesco and Boots and also has experience in the B2B sector with RAC plc and has held a variety of HR and general management and operational roles.
Lord Harris of Peckham, Chairman and Chief Executive, said: "I am delighted that Claire has agreed to join Carpetright's board. She has made a valuable contribution to the company in the past five years, and her appointment to the board reinforces our focus on the needs of the customer and the importance of our people."
No other information is required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph LR 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of the Financial Services Authority in relation to the appointment of Claire Balmforth as a Director of Carpetright.
