Next generation 3U VPXTM board featuring newly launched processor

Concurrent Technologies Plc (the "Company"), a world leading specialist in the design and manufacture of high-end embedded computer products for critical applications in the defence, aerospace, telecommunications, transportation, scientific and industrial markets, is pleased to announce the launch of their first single board computer, a TR E5x/msd, based on the new Intel® Xeon® processor E3 family.

The TR E5x/msd features a quad core Intel® Xeon® processor with up to 16 Gbytes of DRAM and a rich assortment of I/O interfaces. With further improved processing and graphics performance and a wider range of configuration options than previous products, the TR E5x/msd is particularly suited to high-end multi-processor applications such as Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance applications within the defence market which is an important contributor to the Company's revenues. The product is expected to appeal to both existing and new customers within the defence market as well as the aerospace and transportation markets.

Initial shipments of air-cooled variants will be followed by rugged conduction-cooled modules, once the necessary qualifications are complete, ensuring this product will appeal to applications within both benign and harsh environments.

Glen Fawcett, CEO, Concurrent Technologies Plc, commented:

"We are excited to introduce our first new generation Intel® Xeon® processor based board. We are committed to delivering high quality embedded computers utilising the latest processors from Intel to advance our Size, Weight and Power (SWAP) propositions. The VPX form-factor is a popular choice and the new board complements our existing range of processor boards, switches, mass storage, I/O expansion carriers and development systems to provide a straightforward path from prototype to deployment."
