Issue of equity

The Company announces that following an exercise of options over 375,000 ordinary shares of 5 pence each in Elektron, the Company has applied for 375,000 new ordinary shares to be admitted to trading on AIM ("Admission"). The new ordinary shares will rank pari passu with the Company's existing ordinary shares and Admission is expected to become effective on 22 September 2010.

Following Admission of these new ordinary shares, the Company will have 106,108,259 Ordinary Shares in issue with each share carrying the right to one vote. There are no shares held in Treasury. The total number of voting rights in Elektron will therefore be 106,108,259.

The above figure of 106,108,259 may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change in their interest in, Elektron, under the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
