Formation of Digital Cinema Media Limited - OFT approval
Cineworld Group plc ("Cineworld") is pleased with the announcement of the decision by the Office of Fair Trading ("OFT") that it is clearing the formation of Digital Cinema Media Limited ("DCM"), a 50:50 joint venture with Odeon Cinemas Limited ("Odeon"), to address cinema advertising.
Steve Wiener, Chief Executive Officer, said:
"Cineworld welcomes the announcement by the OFT, which clears the formation of Digital Cinema Media. It is an exciting development for cinema advertising and we believe DCM will offer an attractive alternative for advertisers and operators of other cinema chains. We look forward to working with Odeon on this JV and anticipate operations starting later in the month."
