Directors' share purchase
City of London Group PLC announces that on Thursday 17 June 2010, Eric Anstee, John Kent and John Greenhalgh purchased ordinary shares in the Company as set out below.
Eric Anstee, Chief Executive of the Company, purchased 14,000 ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company at a price of 71p per share.
Eric Anstee now holds a total of 103,606 shares, being 1.01 per cent. of the total shares in issue.
John Kent, Executive Director of the Company, exercised certain options and purchased for his pension fund, 16,826 ordinary shares of 10p each in the company at a price of 67.5p per share. These shares were satisfied by the issue of shares held by the Company in treasury.
John Kent now holds a total of 89,606 shares, being 0.88 per cent. of the total shares in issue.
John Greenhalgh, Non-Executive Director of the Company, purchased 34,000 ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company at a price of 73p per share.
John Greenhalgh now holds a total of 2,200,985 shares, being 21.6 per cent. of the total shares in issue.
The Company advises that the total number of ordinary shares in issue as at the date of this announcement is 10,186,642, with each share carrying the right to one vote. Of these, 190,273 shares are held in Treasury. The total number of voting rights in the Company is therefore 9,996,369.
The above figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, COLG under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
