Interim Management Statement

Castings plc publishes its second interim management statement covering the period 1st October 2013 to 31st January 2014.

The exceptional level of demand from European commercial vehicle emissions legislation changes continued to the end of 2013. As expected we have seen reductions in early 2014, however, the decline has not been as severe as was originally anticipated by the commercial vehicle market.

The short-term variable demand has continued to cause certain inefficiencies in our operations and we anticipate that the year end results will be in-line with current market expectations.

Whilst we expect the current level of demand to continue to the end of this financial year, it is impossible to reliably predict any further ahead.
