Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Caffyns is pleased to announce the appointment of Nigel Gourlay as an independent non-executive director of the Company with effect from 26 September 2013. Mr Gourlay, who is a Chartered Accountant, will also chair the board's Audit Committee and will be a member of its Remuneration and Nominations Committees.

As previously announced, Andrew Goodburn will retire from the Board, with effect from 25 October 2013. The other members of the Board would like to thank Mr Goodburn for his valuable contribution as a director of the Company.

Nigel Gourlay (aged 58) spent more than 20 years with the BAT plc group of companies, leaving in 2001. He was initially involved in various finance related and marketing roles and subsequently was Head of Business Development responsible for the worldwide growth of the group through acquisition and new ventures.

In 2003 Mr Gourlay co-founded Animos LLP, a business consultancy of which he remains a partner, and has since advised and been a director of a number of private and public companies in several countries. He is currently a director of Toronto Venture Exchange quoted Feronia Inc, a director of Springboard Associates Ltd, chair of the protector committee of Jersey Trusts, and chair of governors of Beacon College Academy Trust. He has experience of the motor retail sector through involvement with the Jersey Trusts.

Commenting on the appointment, Richard Wright, Chairman, said:

There are no other matters which require disclosure in respect of Mr Gourlay pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules of the Financial Conduct Authority.
