Beximco PharmaΒ commences exports to Chile
Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd.Β ("BPL" or the "Company"), the leading pharmaceutical manufacturer and the largest exporter ofΒ pharmaceutical products fromΒ Bangladesh,Β today announces that itΒ has commenced exports to Chile,Β after receivingΒ marketing authorizationΒ for a number of productsΒ fromΒ "Instituto de Salud Publica de Chile"Β (Drug Regulatory authority in Chile). With this,Β BPL has become the first Bangladeshi pharmaceutical companyΒ toΒ obtain product registrationΒ in any Latin American country.
ChileΒ isΒ theΒ sixthΒ largest pharmaceutical market inΒ Latin America.Β In 2007,Β theΒ ChileanΒ pharmaceutical market was valued at US$1.5 billion.Β

Founded in 1976 and based inΒ Dhaka,Β Bangladesh, BPL manufactures and sells generic pharmaceutical formulation products, active pharmaceutical ingredients and intravenous fluids. The Company also manufactures and markets its own branded generics for almost all diseases. The Company also undertakes contract manufacturing for multinational pharmaceutical companies.
