British Smaller Companies VCT PLC04 May 2005 BRITISH SMALLER COMPANIES VCT PLC REGULATORY NEWS ANNOUNCEMENT APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR British Smaller Companies VCT plc is delighted to announce the appointment ofStephen Noar as a non-executive director with effect from 3 May 2005. Stephen, a dentist by profession, was the founder Chairman and Chief Executiveof Denplan Limited until its successful trade sale in 1993 following its growthfrom start up to a turnover in excess of £70m. He currently holds directorshipsin a number of private and public companies including British Smaller TechnologyCompanies VCT plc, British Smaller Technology Companies VCT 2 plc and Cozartplc. In 1994 Stephen was the winner of the Financial Times Venturer of the Yearaward. The Chairman, Sir Andrew Hugh Smith, said, "I am delighted Stephen has agreed tojoin the Board. His appointment will enable him to extend to the Company theconsiderable contribution he has made as a director of the British SmallerTechnology Companies venture capital trusts.
