Murchison United NL23 May 2005 ASX,AIM and Media Release 23rd May 2005 PLACEMENT TO SOPHISTICATED INVESTORS RAISES A$1,263,500 In accordance with resolutions passed by shareholders at a general meeting heldon the 20th April 2005 the Directors advise that the second tranche of thecapital raising to sophisticated clients of Hartleys Limited has been completed.28,077,777 ordinary shares have been issued at A$0.045 raising A$1,263,500. Thefunds raised will be used by the Company for working capital to review existingassets and continue the Company's investigation of resource opportunities inAustralia and internationally to assess their appropriateness for the Company. Further details on this share issue are set out in the attached Appendix 3B. In accordance with the requirements of section 708A(5)(e) of the CorporationsAct 2001 (the "Act") under which this notice is given, the Company confirmsthat: 1. the Company issued the shares without disclosure to investors under Part 6D.2 of the Act; 2. as at the date of this notice: (a) the Company has complied with the provisions of Chapter 2M of the Act as they apply to the Company; and (b) the Company has complied with section 674 of the Act; and 3.
