TEMPORARY SUSPENSION NOTICE

The listing and trading of the under-mentioned security has been temporarily suspended with effect from 06.30am, 31 March 2011 pending an announcement.

BANK OF IRELAND (GOVERNOR AND COMPANY)

The Central Bank and the Irish Stock Exchange have considered the most effective way to support the integrity of market trading in financial sector shares while the details of the Financial Measures Programme Report, which details the outcome of the 2011 review of the Prudential Capital Assessment Review (PCAR) and Prudential Liquidity Assessment Review (PLAR), are being issued to various parties throughout today.

In order to avoid the possibility of a disorderly market due to the circulation of information or rumours during the day and recognising that the banks may not comment on such information or rumours ahead of the Central Bank announcement this afternoon, the listing and trading of the above-mentioned securities have been temporarily suspended with effect from 06.30am, 31 March 2011 pending that announcement and any subsequent related announcements by the banks concerned.
