IBC Summary
Forbidden Technologies plc (AIM: FBT), the AIM-quoted owner and developer of the market leading cloud video platform, Forscene, provides a summary of its activities at IBC2014.
This IBC marked the tenth anniversary of the launch of Forbidden's Forscene cloud video platform - a decade of innovation and rapid development. Forbidden's stand was double the size of previous years reflecting the progress the Company has made in the past 12 months and the growing acceptance of cloud as fundamental to the broadcast industry. The demonstration pods and round meeting table were in constant use throughout the five days.
The show was well attended and Forbidden gave multiple third-party magazine and video interviews, a live webcast panel discussion and had two clients present IBC case study sessions. We're pleased to report that the Company received a recommendation in the conference session "What Caught My Eye", and that the partnership with IBC TV News was again successful with the organisers using Forscene to make their content available to broadcasters around the world.
At this year's event, Forbidden demonstrated the opening up of the platform underpinning Forscene which enables users to act with far more autonomy and increased efficiency. Crucially, it also makes it far easier for partners to integrate with the technology. To date Forbidden has integrated with blue chip companies including Sony, Microsoft and Amazon, as well as numerous smaller players in the broadcast industry.
This year Forbidden has been successful in making Forscene more attractive to creatives. Three major upgrades were launched at the show, scheduled for release in November:
· A modern, professional look and feel for the interface
· An option for editors to double video size without sacrificing picture quality
· A free Forscene iPad app to introduce the service to the professional editing community
