BAE Systems announces Angus Cockburn to join the Board as a non-executive director

The Board of BAE Systems plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Angus Cockburn as a non-executive director of the Company with effect from 6 November 2023.Angus Cockburn is currently Chair of James Fisher & Sons plc and the Senior Independent Director of Ashtead Group plc. He is also a non-executive director of STS Global Income & Growth Trust plc but will step-down from that board at the company's AGM in 2024. Until his retirement in 2021, he served for six years as Group Chief Financial Officer of Serco Group plc, during which he helped manage a major transformation of the business. Prior to that, he was Chief Financial Officer of Aggreko plc. He is also a former non-executive director of GKN plc and Howdens Joinery Group PLC. 

Angus holds an MBA from the IMD Business School in Switzerland. He is also an Honorary Professor at the University of Edinburgh and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
