Avocet Mining PLC27 September 2006 AVOCET MINING PLC (the "Company") Director's shareholding The Company was informed today that Jonathan Henry, the Company's ChiefExecutive Officer, has purchased 50,000 ordinary shares at a price of 88p pershare. This brings his holding to 500,010 ordinary shares, representing 0.41 percent. of the issued share capital. The Company was also informed today that Nigel McNair Scott, the Company'sChairman, has purchased 164,596 ordinary shares at a price of 93p per share.This brings his holding to 6,000,000 ordinary shares, representing 4.94 percent. of the issued share capital.
