9 September 2009 Avingtrans plc (the "Company") Directorate Change
The Board of Avingtrans plc, is pleased to announce that Dr. Graham Kenneth Thornton has agreed to join the Board as a Non-Executive Director, with immediate effect.
Graham has over 25 years experience in the aerospace sector working for market leading companies such as TRW Aeronautical Systems, where he was VP Business Development, and the Smiths Group PLC. He has also worked as an independent consultant to a number of the world's most prestigious defence and high technology companies. Graham was most recently the Managing Director of Northrop Grumman UK.
Dr. Thornton, aged 61, is a chartered physicist and chartered mechanical engineer. He is a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a fellow of the RSA and served more than 10 years as a council member of the Society of British Aerospace Companies. He is a physics graduate and has a PhD in Cryogenic Engineering from Southampton University. From 1975 to 1984 he lectured in Engineering Science at Oxford University.
